If you are interested in selling or buying a center please read the following before proceeding:
A licensed center director may sell his or her business at any time. However, please remember that your Music Together license is non-transferable. In other words, you cannot sell, assign, encumber, or in any way transfer your license. Your prospective purchaser must first submit a licensing application and be approved as a center director for whatever locations are involved in the transfer. The initial application fee of $175.00 is required. The selling center director shall inform the Licensing Department in writing of the impending sale. The selling center director's account must be current before the perspective purchaser's license application will be reviewed. Music Together reserves the right to approve, deny, or approve with a limit, the application from the prospective buyer. For that reason, we suggest that the contract includes a contingency clause in case the perspective buyer's license application is denied. Also, please make sure the buyer is informed that the Music Together licenses are non-exclusive. They are buying neither a license nor a territory. They are simply buying the assets and the goodwill of the business.
If you have any questions please contact the Licensing Department at:1-800-728-2692 Ex. 333 or licensing@musictogether.com.
